Sanjeev is founder and CEO of Swaayatt Robots. He has been doing research in autonomous navigation for the past 11 years. Over the past 5 years, he has developed several novel algorithmic frameworks in the areas of (i) Motion Planning and Decision Making Under Uncertainty; and (ii) Deep Learning and Computer Vision, to enable autonomous driving in highly stochastic traffic dynamics, like in India.
His primary research at Swaayatt focuses on motion planning and decision making under uncertainty, focusing on reinforcement learning, mathematical optimization, machine learning, deep learning, motion planning, mathematical topology, manifold theory, game theory, heuristic search and some of the branches of applied mathematics. His secondary research focuses on developing novel real-time deep neural network systems, by developing novel loss functions and compute units for DNNs, to enable autonomous vehicles to perceive their environment using only off-the-shelf cameras.
Sanjeev did his B. Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Roorkee, and attended University of Alberta for MS in Computing Science. His research has been covered both nationally and internationally. At University of Alberta, Sanjeev’s MS thesis adviser was Prof. Richard S. Sutton, one of the pioneers of modern reinforcement learning. He’s also recognized as 51 Most Impactful Smart Cities Leaders (Global Listing) in 2019, by World Smart Cities Congress and Awards. He’s also a recipient of the 40 Under 40 Data Scientist in India Award, 2019, at MLDS 2019 by Analytics India Magazine.
